Safeguarding All of God's Family
The Archdiocese of Milwaukee has sete a new policy for all parish and school volunteers ministering to children of all ages.
The goal of the Safeguarding All of God's Family program of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is to protect our children and all in the church family from sexual abuse and related dangers.
Any individual 18 or older (employee or volunteer) who wishes to work with children or is in contact with children as part of their employment in the parish or school for any event or activity must complete the "Safeguarding All of God's Family" program. Examples of volunteers who must have the Safeguarding training include, but not limited to, chaperones, coaches, room mothers, CYF teachere and aides (helperes).
The requirements to complete the "Safeguarding All of God's Family" progam are:
- 1. Attend a 3 hour training session and provide proof of completion to the parish/school office. A list of times and locations of currently scheduled sessions can be found on the Archdiocese of Milwaukee website http://www.archmil.org/aboutus/dept.asp?ID=1414
- 2. Read, sign, and return the "Code of Ethics".
- 3. Submit to a background check (both state and federal).
- 4. Complete a Volunteer form.
- Anyone wishing to drive students for any event or activity must also complete a Driver form.
- All forms are located on the Forms page.
- NOTE: No one under the age of 21 is allowed to drive or chaperone any youth activity, event or field trip.
We do not want to discourage anyone from volunteering for our programs. Instead, we welcome adults to join the many volunteers who have completed all the requirements. Everyone who has attended the Safeguarding training session discovered the importance of safeguarding our children.
